3D Printing, Blockchain, and Hands-On Emerging Tech Education

Scaling emerging technology literacy across a business college

This program covers a decade of teaching-innovation work at Kennesaw State: a 3D printing initiative scaled across online and in-person sections (Technology Association of Georgia's Digital Transformation of the Year, 2022; published in Frontiers in Education), a rebuilt core programming course (IS 3020) converted to Python and project-based learning that more than doubled student demand, and one of the field's early blockchain-for-business courses, published in Communications of the AIS.

On the co-curricular side, the Apps for Wellbeing Hackathon and the Marketing Innovation and Technology Strategy (MITS) competition — co-founded with student organizations and Professor Laurie Michaelson respectively — have grown into two of the largest experiential-learning events in the Coles College calendar, drawing over 200 student competitors in 2025 and earning the college's Distinguished Collaboration Award in 2024.
